Travel to Egypt
Passport required.
Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months upon the arrival date. Minors aged less than 16 years do not need a separate passport if they are registered in passport of a parent/guardian that does not contain a machine-readable zone.
Passengers entering or transiting through Egypt must have:
- A printed negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen test taken at least 72 hours before arrival. The test must be based on a nasal or oral swab. The test result must have a stamp of the issuing laboratory or a QR code.
- Or a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac or Sputnik V at least 14 days before departure.
The certificate must be in Arabic, French or English and have a QR code.
This does not apply to passengers younger than 12 years.
Visa
Visa is required to enter Egypt.
The following are exempt:
- Wives of Egyptian nationals.
- Sons and daughters born to an Egyptian father.
- Sons and daughters of an Egyptian mother if born after 25 July 2004.
Accepted proof of Egyptian nationality is: (copy of) a birth certificate, passport or national ID card of the relative.
For any other situation:
E-visas can be obtained before departure on the link below.
Passengers must have a printed e-visa confirmation.
Nationals of USA with a normal passport can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 30 days. They can apply to extend their stay.
